Domestic ProgramsParticipating Institutions and Training Programs in Hungary 1. Postgraduate training program for music teachers, Lóránd Eötvös University of Science in Budapest, Department of Psychology. The purpose of the program is preparing participating teachers for the health education assignments at music schools, maintaining the physical and neurological aptitude of music playing students and the prevention of occupational injuries in the music profession. The program consists of four semesters, 360 hours each. During the first and second semesters participants study the Care of Musical Work Capacity, while in the third and fourth semesters the attendees focus on general pedagogical, psychological and legal knowledge. Doing independent research along the themes of maintaining musical work capacity is an intergral part of the curriculum and can be the basis of the dissertation. The training ends with a pedagogy certification exam. Those who obtain the certification can fulfill the tasks associated with the Care of Musicians Work Capacity and will be qualified for leadership positions as well. Upon the first month of the year following a successful exam, graduates will receive a salary increase. The prerequisite of acceptance is a musical degree and three years of teaching experience. Course for full time university students, Franz Liszt Academy, Budapest. The purpose of the program is to prepare the artist-students for the physical and neurological demands of the music profession, and learning the theoretical and practical knowledge required in the prevention of occupational injuries. The program consists of two semesters, 40 hours, can be repeated upon request. The first 20 hours are dedicated to theoretical instruction while the remaining 20 hours are spent with movement and exercises. To participate in the instruction of the Kovács Method subject matter one must be a student of the Franz Liszt Academy. Outside regular classes, one-on-one counseling sessions are available to those who request it. 3. Accreditation for Music Educators, Foundation for Musical Health, Debrecen. The program provides basic level training for graduate music teachers in the Kovács Method subject matter. Those who obtain the accreditation may apply the theoretical and practical knowledge of of the Kovács Method to ease the work of their own and ther students' as well. The training also serves as the foundation for the pedagogy certification exam. The deadline for application is May 31st each year.
